Search

Primeval man] could walk upright as men now do, backwards or forwards as he pleased, and he could also roll over and over at a great pace, turning on his four hands and four feet, eight in all, like tumblers going over and over with their legs in the air; this was when he wanted to run fast…Terrible was their might and strength, and the thoughts of their hearts were great, and they made an attack upon the gods... Doubt reigned in the celestial councils. Should they kill them and annihilate the race with thunderbolts, as they had done the giants, then there would be an end of the sacrifices and worship which men offered to them; but, on the other hand, the gods could not suffer their insolence to be unrestrained. At last, after a good deal of reflection, Zeus discovered a way. He said: 'Methinks I have a plan which will humble their pride and improve their manners; men shall continue to exist, but I will cut them in two and then they will be diminished in strength and increased in numbers; this will have the advantage of making them more profitable to us. They shall walk upright on two legs, and if they continue insolent and will not be quiet, I will split them again and they shall hop about on a single leg.
Aristophanes, Plato's Symposium

And so it became that mankind was cursed to search for the other half. The other half that will complete their souls, their beings... the one that will complete the heart that was broken in two.

The search is over...

  • Four places I go to, over and over:
  1. TriNoMa - I love Cyma, it's this Greek resto which serves almost authentic Greek food! Yum!
  2. Starbucks at Emerald - we have no other choice
  3. SM San Lazaro - really convenient, it's like I can go to this place in my torn jeans and faded Beach Walk slippers and no one would care. This is where I do my grocery shopping, and yes, even clothes-shopping
  4. Dampa - I love seafood.
  • Four people (only 2 are real persons) who email me regularly:
  1. Matt, who's my boss. Haha! The directives and commands I get via an email message.
  2. Emerson Helpdesk - it's an auto-generated script that runs a mail merge program in our office tools
  3. Jeoffrey - the man of my dreams, well sometimes, I just get a hi or hello, but it's still pretty regular
  4. Arca Max, it's this trivia email subscription I have
  • Four of my favorite places to eat at:
  1. Cyma at TriNoMa which serves authentic Baklava and Mahi Mahi with Lemon. I swear, it's to die for!
  2. Chef and Brewer's around the Ortigas Ave block. They have the most fab pasta - it's Chicken and Garlic pasta like mom's cooking. Absolutely delish!
  3. Venetto - a pizza place that's pretty affordable but they have the most amazing seafood curry pasta ever! There's one in Eastwood and one in MOA. I've been to both, I like the MOA branch better.
  4. Cafe Breton. I actually am cheap. See, the Butter and Sugar Crepe they have is all I'm after. It's a steal for 60Php but OMG, it's soo creamily delicious!
  • Four places I’d rather be:
  1. Toronto, Canada - don't ask... :)
  2. Greece, maybe in Santorini or in Delos
  3. The UK, I want to get married in a castle - well, dreaming on...
  4. My room, on my bed, resting...

  • Four TV shows I could watch over and over:
  1. House
  2. CSI Miami - something about Horatio Cane's red hair makes me love him more, haha!
  3. Fairly Odd Parents
  4. Chuck
  • Four people I am tagging: (if it's OK with them?)

Tagged by Starter Mom

I'm probably not going to tag anyone else, because I don't think anyone else reads my blog. :)

The rule is to list the things that make me happy and things that make me sad... Hmn...

What makes me sad...
  • feeling unappreciated or when people don't see the things I do for them
  • losing control over things I should have control over
  • bad things happening to good people
  • great things happening to people who don't deserve great thing happening to them
  • realizing that I can be too self-righteous and extremely judgmental
  • inability to function correctly when I don't drink coffee
  • not being able to spend enough time on a certain task and not being able to do my best on that task
  • having to kill time or feeling incredibly idle
  • people who drain your energy
  • dealing with decisions that were predetermined anyhow
  • being too busy that weekends are necessary for me to rest
  • being too tired to spend time with friends and/or family
  • the feeling of being alone, even when I know I'm not
  • having to really fight for what I know is right
  • getting into a fight with anyone
  • knowing that my parents are indeed, getting older
  • when I'm faced with the fact that I'm incredibly far away from the man whom I love

What makes me happy...

  • unwinding and reflecting on the day over a cup of ice-cold coffee
  • TV, TV and more TV!
  • a huge meal of fried daing na bangus, rice and iced tea - I could live on this for an entire decade, seriously!
  • a great book, it could be about anything and everything
  • a light-hearted and fun conversation with just about anybody, IE: manong driver when I ride a cab
  • a perfect pair of shoes, the heels shouldn't be too high, and they shouldn't be flats - they should be just right...
  • a tube of Philosophy's Kiss Me lip gloss
  • a wonderful and slightly offbeat song that will be playing in my head for the rest of the day
  • the promise of a new tomorrow
  • great things happening to people around me
  • stories from other people, anecdotes about the day or musings
  • random acts of kindness from strangers, friends, family or even from myself
  • great Sunday afternoons when I just veg out an watch countless episodes of X Files reruns
  • any semblance of manners from people in the MRT
  • chivalry
  • blogging
  • taking pictures of people who matter to me
  • memories of great times with people I love
  • funny movies
  • hour-long baths
  • fluffy pillows in silk cases
  • watching little children having fun with their parents in parks or in the mall
  • an hour-long massage from the nearby massage therapist
  • making plans and keeping them
  • being appreciated by my colleagues
  • the feeling of being valued by my boss
  • knowing my parents are in somewhat good shape both physically and financially
  • December plans
  • Jeoff appreciating me and loving me from afar
  • understanding things from his perspective
  • just merely thinking of him

Goes a Long Way

Something from Jessica Simpson. Actually, I have loved this song for quite some time. It's just now that I got to listen to the lyrics. Weird...but I actually agree.

It's Friday and I'm in Love

I was teaching a new batch of starters this week. I'm really tired and so, I think I have every right to miss out on blogging. Well, it's a weekend, I just got home from TriNoMa and I had a really great time. I thought I might as well tell everyone about the week that was.

Aug 18th
Monday was pretty darned hectic. It was Aileen's turn to do the whole orientation and I let her take her time instead of hurriedly going through 49 slides of HR Policies. She's basically reading the entire handbook to the new starters. The new starters included one German-speaking, two Japanese-speaking and three English-speaking analysts. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, I'm training the United Colors of Benetton. The German speaker is incredibly hard to deal with. Oh my gawd, he can be such a pain in the butt. Oh well, I'll be moving on to my next batch right after anyhow. Screw it.
I went home at around 1:30 AM and waited until 5 AM. I called Jeoff up. I reminded him that it was my birthday and I deserved some time with him. Haha! Talk about manipulation! He was pretty out of it when I called. He was taking a nap. I said something like "Hun, aren't you going to greet me? It's my birthday!" He goes "Is it? You're too excited about your birthday..." He was trailing off when I also realized that it was just the 18th in Canada.

Aug 19th
Tuesday was pretty okay. It was hectic and I was teaching them the Support Portal and Customer Service. I am a bit behind schedule. It was my birthday and Merlin Policy dictates that I should treat everyone. Thank goodness Roy's birthday was on the 15th. He was the one who ordered from Buddy's and I paid for half the bill. We had amazing Pancit Lucban. We bought two bilao's. It was pretty damned good, especially with the cassava cake. I had so much to eat. But still I was pretty damned tired after the day was over. I needed some R&R. I went home pretty early but waited for Jeoff to call. I missed his call and when I awoke, he was already playing WoW. He was so ready to get me off the phone. It was pretty darn bad, because it was my birthday technically, and he can't even spare me some time. Oh well... men!

Aug 20th
Wednesday was of course, a pretty darned hectic day as well. Jeoff wasn't feeling well so he stayed home. He had a pretty bad stomachache. My poor baby was at home and not feeling so great, and I can't even take care of him. I'm telling you, the LDR thing sucks sometimes. Apart from not being physically together, it sometimes feels like because you're physically apart, you're also not connected to that person anymore. Like something stops you from really understanding things from your perspective. Nonetheless, I still went to work, this time teaching the trainees the ticketing system Merlin uses. I also figured out, based on sheer luck I guess, how to create a Support Portal account from Infra. I was able to teach the newbies everything about creating a Support Portal account. Career-wise, that was a big step. It really made me feel like I could be somewhat techie too. I also felt like it is a great feeling to make the newbies create their own Portal accounts. It made them feel like they were doing something good. Got home and checked with my hunny how he's doing. Still pretty sick. Awwww... :(

Aug 21st
I had to come to work early for a meeting with New Horizon's Learning Center. They provide Microsoft Certification training. They apparently specialize in CBT's, or computer-based learning. They did mention that they have live mentors who can assist participants. Now, we have about 5 analysts which we intend to certify in a few months' time. The level would be MC DST (Microsoft-Certified Desktop Support Technician) first, then MC SA (Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator). This is pretty exciting because I might want to learn how to be a DST. I don't know if I will ever get to be in the SA level. They had pretty great courses. However, I'm still pretty concerned about the budget. Training was pretty bad. German boy kept getting louder and louder and more annoying. What's more, I learned that he used to work for the same company I worked for. This kind of helped him become more "familiar" (read: feeling close) with me. It was pretty irritating when he kept insisting that the line on my slide that read "make sure that when laptop users want to back-up their files, they save it on their desktops" may confuse people because desktops are also called PCs. Hello! Oh gawd! I wish I never have to train someone who is this amazingly concerned about semantics. I was so pissed off, I asked Yong and Yogi to stay for an hour or so and get coffee. I pigged-out like hell! I ate a whole Hungarian Sausage, Egg and Cheese on Ciabatta breakfast sandwich and a Chocolate Lamington. Well, I think the highlight of the day was actually this...

Ewww, I know, I know... See, here's the thing. Yong, Yogi and I were walking to Starbucks from Ortigas Building which means we have to pass by Union Bank. Across Union Bank though, there was this immense cockroach! It was huge! As in if I put it in my palm, it would probably occupy my whole hand! It was almost as huge as a stick of cigarette. I've never seen anything like it! Ugh!

Aug 22nd
The day started with me having to call Chari to let her know about my plans of subcontracting her services to train my "kids" for SDI. Then, Rachelle asked for a round of Maxima training for her entire team. It also escalated to me having to reset someone's Oracle password because my passwords don't work in my very own Citrix client. It sucked like crazy because I was training people o Noetix and it was bundled with Oracle. Tsk tsk... I guess I'll never get my mojo working with Oracle again. I hate myself because I get flustered. If I'm teaching something important, I get confused when one application doesn't function well and instead of talking, I end up trying to fix my account. That's what I did. I sort of projected my incredibly unsystematic way of dealing with resetting my JAVA plugin so Oracle would work. Oh heck... I still ended up getting some coffee after. But we went for a bottle of beer first. Charles and Derrick visited the office and the Business Support gang decided to go to Carlos for pizza and beer. I got Erick, my former trainee, to tag along and we just had a few drinks. It was a fun time, cos we were primarily just chatting about work, it was light and pretty comfy. We moved to Starbucks right after and had a cup of java. Oh that was a great Friday night.
I ended going home at around 4 AM and Jeoff called me up, as if on queue. We spoke for a good 45 minutes or so, about anything and everything under the sun. It was as if it was the first time we spoke on the phone for so long. He was listening and laughing and teasing me. He was joking and he seemed like he was having a great time just talking with me. It was Friday, and I'm in love. :) That was one of the best conversations I had with him. I already miss him.

Weird Finds

Ok, I am so in this weird blogging frenzy. I've been "repressed" for a good five days and never even got to visit my blog during my work hours (not that I'm supposed to), but I was working for almost 9 hours (yes, I eat lunch now, thanks to Jeoff who gave me a really good scolding over the phone).

Alright, so I was looking for funny pictures, only because I wanted to be entertained. I didn't really want to get cracking on my SDI e-books, so here we go. Engrish came up with these pictures and for some reason, I just thought I'd post a few here...

Bubble Cum and a happy boy. :) Haha! Ok, why I took an interest in this is because I probably had this type of stationery growing up. I used to collect stationery from Korea and Japan and there's this nice little store near our school that sells those for 15Php per set. A set would contain 5 sheets and 5 envelopes. The stickers are usually cute too. This was way before the email age, and people still wrote to each other. I even remember having a pen pal through an International Agency which was required by our school to practice writing a friendly letter.

OMG! I have eaten one of these. I think it's also available from the International Aisle. It's a bit like Yanyan, and for some reason, I still don't understand the name. Little Pocky also comes in Salad flavor. LOL!

Starbucks was apparently mere foreplay. Haha! Ok, this sort of reminds me of this weird Korean Tea/Coffee House I visited once that's in Robinson's Place Manila. It's actually got great coffee and amazing tea latte drinks that's almost half the price of Starbucks' coffee. They had this weird interior, it looks almost like a cable car. Then there's a VIP spot that's covered with curtains and little trinkets. I know, weird eh? Just try to imagine. And if you're lucky enough to drop by the Faura wing, check it out.

Ok, the last one actually takes the cake. I almost fell off the couch looking at it. Oh my gawd!!!

Ok, inspirational messages do not go with expletives and they certainly do not go well emblazoned on a sweat shirt. Haha!

Weird Eats in the International Aisle

I was grocery shopping with my mom earlier and I chanced upon the International aisle and saw this weird-looking thing...

It's called Dick Sticks and it's a Korean biscuit stick that's a bit sweet and tangy. Would you actually put a Dick Stick in your mouth? LOL!

Next up is a chocolate snack that seems absolutely weird. It's name is ChocoThinThin. And if you're lucky enough to actually get one, the little yellow words below the brand name says...

"Slim style chocolate for Girls. The smile will make happy and joyful time." Hmn... wonder if I should have gotten one. Maybe I'll smile and make happy and joyful time. Haha!

27

It's been almost 27 years since I was born. I just wanted to take the time to view my life from a 26 year-old's perspective...

I've been so blessed.
  • I have a wonderful family whom I love very much. We've had our differences but we've been pulling through. I know that whatever kind of trouble or problem I face, my dad, my mom and my brother will always be there for me.
  • Great friends whom I will never, ever wish to change. I have been fortunate to find so many wonderful people in this lifetime and I only can wish that whatever strength they give me is also the strength they draw from me. I almost feel army strong because of them and I will never wish for my relationship with them to change. I have a few very good friends whom I have shown the most vulnerable side of me. If I have cried in front of you, chances are I trust you. And if I have been crying and trying to explain my side at the same time, it just means that I'll give you half of my liver. I love my friends very much. While there are only a few whom I completely and absolutely trust, I sincerely thank you. I consider one to be my sister. And I love her to bits. You know who you are. :) Thanks for being the person who trusts me and the person whom I trust...sincerely.
  • My career that may need a few changes but still is a kick-ass one. I'm very fortunate that I'm at this point where I can make my own decisions as a training personnel. While it is absolutely true that I am, at this point, the most senior and most learned training coordinator in the entire company, I think, I don't really wish for any promotion. I'm happy being able to teach and being able to find solutions to people's looping and sometimes twisted questions.
  • I have been blessed with enough funds to be able to enjoy life's simple pleasures. Being able to take a cab when needed...capability to drink a cup of overpriced coffee when I want to, being able to dye my hair Phoenix-red...having a complete line of expensive hair care products just because I want to...a laptop that's amazing...a great bag and shoe collection...having cable and internet connection and electricity...
  • Knowledge that is not necessarily useful but is amusing. I think this is the reason why people think I'm smart...because I know Potassium Permanganate explodes with sugar. Haha! Seriously! I think people assume I know a lot of stuff, but I think I only know a few things. It takes years to master an idea and decades to have one of your own, well at least a billion-dollar one. :)
  • Having a slightly normal, kind of offbeat sense of sarcasm, wit and sense of humor. I think it saves me from a lot of confrontations.
  • Having someone who is able to see through my actions and words right into my heart, who knows how to forgive and love while proximity isn't on our side
I have been blessed. I don't want to ask for anything else. I only ask that the people whom I love will be blessed with excellent health and more time with me.

It's been a wonderful world. It still is. It will always be. God has always provided and God has always been kind and good.

Missing

Somehow, it goes without saying...I officially miss the one that makes my heart beat. I have often wondered how it would be like to actually wake up beside him, and feel his arms around me at night. Sure, I am probably idealizing so much of this, but I honestly want to be with him. When I wake up in the morning, I want someone to smile at. When I lie down in my bed at night, I want someone to chase the nightmares away. I want to be able to hold someone's hand when I walk during the daytime. I want someone to cook dinner for when I get home at night.

It's ridiculous to want to be with someone this much. I keep saying that I won't blog about him but for some reason, I really do think about him. I really do want to be in a future that includes him.

Chuck

I love this nerd!

This is what I'm pretty busy with over the weekend. Rye lent me his season 1 DVD of Chuck and seriously, I'm just going to be a couch potato and eat popcorn and never get up.

By the way, Chuck is played by Zachary Levi, the same annoying Kip Steadman from the now-defunct show "Less than Perfect".

Tired

I am so tired today! I have never been this tired since becoming part of Merlin. I honestly am being sort of spread too thinly. Earlier, I had this meeting with Matt, and I had so many action items for the month of August until September. On top of these things, I also have to worry about separate training sessions running at the same time while I am focused on the certification classes I will be giving. The boss has indeed made me a certified trainer. And I am to start working on providing certification classes come September and October. We might have to book a venue come October. I really hope people will be made aware of the Service Desk Institute. I actually sent an email blast on my own, as part of my drive to make people more aware of the ITIL principles we cover. It's a really good way to start becoming good, if not excellent, service desk analysts.

I also had to several language assessments for Budapest analysts. Oh God, I am soooo tired. Did I mention I was tired? I am, I am, I am, I am!!!! I wasn't even able to reply to Cara and Yanka, who's prolly asleep now. Yanka, should you be reading my blog tomorrow, I promise to wake up early and have coffee with you soon! Cara, yes, I agree, one Friday night, I promise to actually have a good cup of java and jolting with you. You girls are the smartest people I know and I kind of need something AWAY from the service desk industry right about now.

I came across a good realization today. Turkey sandwiches are actually good. I had to be in the office earlier than usual and for some reason, since I can't smoke much now, I had to get a cup of coffee. I also chanced upon Starbuck's Reduced Fat Turkey and Chicken Sandwich on Ciabatta. Man, it was amazingly good and healthy! There were tomatoes, lettuce bits and mushroom bits on the sandwich that made it sooooo amazing! I absolutely recommend it. I was expecting something tough and almost dry, but they made it so juicy and extremely good. I'm not on a diet but the sandwich I usually order, Hungarian Sausage, Egg and Cheese was not available. I had to settle for that sandwich but I am so glad I did. It was scrumptilicious! :)

I also realized that nothing beats good old MiniStop Chicken. It's still one of the best heart-stopping, lard-laden, crispy fried chicken I've ever had. I had it for my 7:00PM meal break. I call it my meal break only because for some reason, I don't know if it's lunch or dinner for me. I just know for a fact that around that time, my tummy's already rumbling and that my blood sugar won't carry me through the next few hours of product-specific coaching and accent neutralization classes.

My heart went haywire for a few seconds earlier when I realized I missed a conference call with my counterparts in Hungary because I extended one of my coaching sessions. Oi vay, good thing Recruitment's Emma was cool with it. She was even apologetic that she didn't check my calendar first.

It feels wonderful to be needed, and appreciated. Okay, it feels wonderful to be actually thanked for just doing your job. Even Matt said a heartfelt "thanks, Meg" (yes, he calls me Meg when Brits never refer to you by your nick, I can so push for a training director post - right Meg, dream on!) when I sent him the minutes of the meeting. The perfect moment for me was when he asked the Service Delivery Manager to get him coffee. He NEVER asks me to get him coffee. Maybe because I have evil eyes. Haha! Everyone I coached said "thanks" today. Even some of the analysts who I'm sure raised an eyebrow or two if I'm all that. Especially since I have never taken calls or established my power over hardware and software. These are my little triumphs and forgive me for having to flaunt them, but gawd, I love the fact that while I'm no Oracle expert, people actually expect me to have an answer.

Have I mentioned that I am tired? I'm heading to bed. It feels wonderful to be appreciated. I'll be appreciating my pillows soon too.

Blast from the Past

Watched this yesterday. I remember Jeoff and I talking about it a few days before he left for Canada. He was watching it over at his place while I was watching it over at mine. I remember laughing about it over the phone and chuckling at the wallpaper they had in the fall-out shelter and their new house. For some reason, his family and my family had the same wallpaper when we were still living in Taguig.

It was funny how I miss talking about movies and laughing about nothing and everything with him.

When he gets here, I promise to watch movies and create new memories we can talk about over the phone. And well, I'll definitely file for my IPG now... Maybe I should start studying soon.

I was talking with Aileen the other day and she mentioned that she chose not to take her Masters Degree in AIMS because she thought about how expensive it would be for her hubby to shoulder. I keep thinking, women do tend to change their perspective about their careers when they get married. I have always wanted to be a Training Director. Maybe I won't ever get to be one in Merlin. The highest post I can probably obtain is Training Manager but I'll take what I can take. But I know what I want, as I've always known.

Myles once told me that the future is how I make it. I want to make it with the one who holds my heart.

Shabby Chic

I spent the whole day bonding my mom hunting bargain stuff...

I only had 2,000Php to spare. And I needed to buy my line of hair care products... Presenting L'Oreal Elseve Pearl Protein for my hair...

This lovely duo only costs P340.00. P175.00 for the conditioner and P165.00 for the shampoo. I love their liss control serum but I was given one by the L'Oreal people because I used to buy ALL my stuff from them. They have been exceptionally nice. I remember getting a mascara from them for my birthday. Wonder what they'll give me for this birthday! I simply can't wait until they relaunch their lip glosses. They always have fabulous ones. I am also a big fan of Revlon's lip glosses. I simply adore L'Oreal! They've reinvented themselves and came up with amazing hair care products! I also adore their hair color...

So back to me and my mommy hunting for shabby chic stuff. She was watching an Oprah episode saying that somehow, every woman needs a "crisp white top" and we were touring the mall for every little boutique and stall that had a crisp white top. We ended up at the bag area of the mall, and Secosana was having a 50% off sale...

This silver bag is only P390.00. It is a bargain steal! I took it from the sale rack and fell in love with it. It has a rounded bottom and is pretty handy. It's great for those MRT days when I feel drab and I need a splash of metallics ...

This is a super cool hobo bag, and it's weaved front is just pretty amazing. There are gold embellishments that look so cute on the bag and they're perfect for Casual Fridays, with my jeans and shirt and well, it could be great for Brown Mondays too, when I don't want to get up and I just put on a pair of khakis and a nice plaid brown top and brown shoes. P190.00 is not so bad for this hobo bag.

Speaking of shoes, I have three thousand pairs of brown slacks. Okay, that's an exaggeration. I only have two thousand (Haha!). It's just that brown is a very safe, very neutral color and you can put on any color - black, white, pink, brown (lighter browns are a whole lot safer to pair with dark brown/chocolate brown slacks), yellow and green. I wanted brown shoes to go with my brown slacks and ta-da! For P499.99, this is something you can use for the office and no one would know it's less that five hundred smackers.

Being chic doesn't mean you have to be incredibly expensive. It's like what Tyra Banks always says in her show, Tyra, you never have to be rich to look pretty darn good. Or at least shop.

My mom got herself a DIY hair color kit for less than P500.00 it's called Garnier Nutrisse. It's not like salon colorants that make her scalp itch. She got the Burgundy colorant. It looks fabulous on her! We also got her lip gloss and a foundation powder from L'Oreal. She got a cologne from Victoria's Secret and a curling iron.

Shabby chic hunt for Meg - P 1340.00.
Shabby chic hunt for Mom - P 3245.00.

I won the challenge and I feel great about my hair - the L'Oreal hair thing is still the best reward ever!

Jolt of Wisdom

I miss Cara, that jolt of wisdom who used to sit beside me.

Wonder what she's up to now...

Taxi Cab

I was waiting for a cab earlier today after getting down from the MRT. My head was throbbing really hard because it was incredibly hot and I really shouldn't have worn my blue dress shirt. I was in the corner of Ortigas Avenue and ADB when this elderly woman approached me and asked me where Medical City was...

"Alam ko po, sa may Ugong pa yun eh. Pwede po kayong sumakay ng jeep papunta dun." (From what I know, it's near Ugong. You can ride a jeep to get there)
The elderly woman just nodded. She looked old and frail. It seems like walking to Robinson's could be a problem.
"Ay miss, sakay na lang po kayo ng Taxi." (Miss, you can ride a cab) And I offered her my one and only ride to Ortigas Building. I know it was going to be at least 15 minutes until I get another cab.

I walked from where I was to ADB, and felt really sore. My feet were hurting cos of the heeled shoes I was wearing and for some weird reason, my tummy felt incredibly full. (Yes, yes, I have forgone all types of diet and ate some bagels earlier, and I really should have taken the Imodium my brother kept asking me to take.)

When I got to the office, I was sweating and puffing. But man, that really felt good. Maybe I was meant to be a doormat. Take that, Myles! Haha!

The Sorry Song

For all I am worth, no matter how worthless it all seems...I am sorry. If I only had the power to hit rewind or erase the past, I would. But I can't. This is what happened and I am willing to take responsibility for all that is, and all that will be...

If only I could turn back time...

honest

I went to the laundry house earlier. It does have a clever name - Laundry Matt. Talking with Tito Mateo, the owner and his helper, Ate Ana, it was as funny as hell.

"Tito, magpapalaba po ako ng blanket, magkano na po ba un?" (Uncle - typical Pinoy way of greeting an elderly man, I'm going to ask you to wash some blankets, how much would that be?) I asked.
"Ah okay lang, 55 pesos per kilo yung blanket, comforters namin 75 pesos."(That's okay, 55 pesos per kilo for blankets, 75 pesos for comforters", replied the elderly old man who wanted to be called "Matt".
I placed the huge plastic bag I had with two comforters. The scale read 5.75 or 5 and three-fourths.
Ate Ana was standing behind me, and was looking at the reading. "Ah sakto, 5 and a halves..." she quipped...
"Ate hindi po, 5 and three-fourths po..." I said as quickly as I can.
Tito Mateo, standing over the reading, beamed proudly... "Yan si Michelle, LAGING nagsasabi ng totoo...". (That's Michelle, ALWAYS telling the truth.)

I wanted to die right then and there.

MRT Ride

Rode the train to work today.

Had a fun time watching two lesbian chicks make out in the femme carriage. The fun part was that Blue was carrying a phone and had Backstreet Boy songs blaring so loudly while making out with Pink.

To the tune of "Quit Playing Games with My Heart", yup they were making out alright.

Along came a bunch of mommies.

"Hay, Diyos me! Immoral". (OMG! That's immoral!)

I didn't honestly know what was more immoral. Making out in a public place, making out as lesbians, or listening to the Backstreet Boys when they've disbanded EONS ago...

Ink Blot

I feel like I'm this huge sheet of paper with a big black ink blot. It's worthless now.

I broke someone's trust. I did something horrible. I don't know what the hell came over me. I just know that somehow, I didn't mean to... And I only have myself to blame.

For the longest time, I thought I was really good at something, and somehow, I feel so gone and lost. I feel lost at sea, and I'm drifting away so violently. Like being swept away...

How do you forgive yourself?

Maybe if I write something nice on that blank sheet of paper, the huge black ink blot will be less noticeable. And maybe, just maybe, somehow, that sheet of paper will be worth something again.
